You can give that to me because that is what I am looking for....Yamaha makes a beautiful engine...I need something with some suspension though, I am getting burned out on the rigid frame..
nice looking bike..

Hey! Shovel52,

Thanks for checking in on my new build.
This build is R/H drive, no "middle drive".

I understand about wanting the rear suspension.
I notice that both rigids shown in your photo have seats bolted to the frame.
A spring seat will make a real difference. It did for me.
Many early Harleys had rigid frames and were ridden on dirt roads.
Harley knew what they were doing with those spring seats.

Maybe on our next builds we could go to full suspensions?

It's not just the comfort. What I really don't like is the way the bike bounces...especially in the curves, even running the rear tire a little low..I have bounced into oncoming traffic a couple of times...not fun..and it is always trying to keep up with everybody..So I only ride around the neighborhood where I know the roads now, The Ultima is awesome, but on long rides, the vibration is terrible, you hands go numb, even wearing gel gloves, and I sit on a homemade buddy seat made of a partially inflated lawn mower tube, which is like riding on air, but I have been having
trouble with batteries vibrating apart and going out...........sitting in a horse shoe oil tank surrounded by hot oil doesn't help them either...other than that, if you keep your nuts and bolts glued and your battery foam mounted , then you may make it home.....The Yamaha may be different, It's nice and smooth....I am going to get another Yamaha for cruising and save the chop for head turning..

I have always thought that the horseshoe oil tank would make the battery very hot and thought it was a bad idea.

I had the Shovelhead battery hanging on the side of the bike in a leather tool pouch, and it looked really cool and was easy to access....I may end up doing the same. I just lined my battery box with 1/8 wood paneling, that should cut out a lot of heat.

The wood panels sound good.
Should keep most of that heat down.

A ceramic hobby supplier has some very high tech
materials that are inexpensive that would really
give some protection from the heat.

This week:

Mounted the clutch and front brake controls with levers.
I bled the rear brake master and it is ready to use.
Front brake line installed.
I was missing a relay in the wiring harness, and it is now installed.
Still need tail light , battery, headlight, kickstand.

Details,details.

I finished building and got the bike running. Next I need to take it off of the build platform. Then I can get pics of the bike on the ground.

Would it not be cheaper to use ceramic wall tiles to line the battery box with?
It worked for NASSA on the shuttle (till they fell off)

Black diamond is finished now and the registration process is next.

Poop... I would change the white diamond to a black diamond but then it
would not be visible. You do understand right?

Paint the diamond black and leave an 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the white?
