Just took a rest ride with the changes made and recommended by DaveJ Roadstar Clinic Forum. The results are great!
Idles perfect. Pulls hard with no hesitation.

SET UP- Roadstar 1700
Vance & Hines short shots with wrapped baffles from Vance & Hines.
Mainjet 172.5, Barons needle 4th groove clip, and #40 idle jet.
Barons special PMS screw out 3 turns.
Chain drive 17/45 sprockets. No middle drive.
Dynatek 3000 ignition in the stock setting.

Bike looks great.

It is your build and your butt so don't mind me..........
I just don't get how the seat and springs work.
Don't those 6 inch springs compress and then you are sitting on the fender?

I understand the concern about the seat. The seat has 5 inch springs and the improved seat sits level.
