New Project Bike

Hey all- I just picked up this 83 XV500 for $80 & I'm itchin' to get started...
I would appreciate any helpful hints on:

Bare bones wiring
Easiest way to rake the neck- I would like to extend the tubes 6-8"
Where's a good place to get longer tubes (from a donor maybe?)
Fattest rear tire I can use on the stock frame

Any tutorials available on any of this?

I've always bought my tubes from Frank's engineering .
They always come through for me. Haven't used a "donor" yet but, sounds like a good idea.
