She's a runner!!!!! HEI ignition modules, VW intake, and a Ford carb. Still a long way from done but its nice to hear her breathe. I suppose I could have done this a couple of months ago, but I just don't have any spare time,,,,ever. Oh, and still at $0.

Yea, she runs better than I thought she would, I wore the starter out and had to rebuild it before I figured out that I wired the modules wrong. I will put a diagram together and post it.

I was sure that the timing, carb, just something would be jacked. I bumped the starter when I put it back in and she just blasted to life with no adjustments. I still need to do a few things on it but its close. I think I might be ready to put my other chop for sale pretty soon and I'm getting itchy to ride this one.

Since I now know it works from testing:runnin 001.AVI - YouTube

I replaced the Honda ignitors (with a going rate of about $125 a pop)

with a pair of these (with a going rate of about $15 a pop)

The chevrolet modules will also replace the ignitors in the Cb650, CB750 twin cams, CB900, and CB1100 (marked OKI MPS-200). Pretty much any Honda with mechanical advance and electronic ignition. They won't work in systems with electronic advance. Its nice to know if you burn a module you can pick one up cheap at any auto parts store and be back on the road. I also mounted them tight to a big chunk of aluminum so the heat sinks can cool. The stock ignitors needed a ballast resistor so they wouldn't burn up, the chevy modules don't.

Here is a quicky diagram I drew up on how to wire in the chevy 4 pin modules.

Just a couple of pics. Doesn't look much different than it has for a while, accept that things are bolted together. There is also a pic of the Chevy modules. The wiring was just a temp job so I could make sure that things were gonna work out,,,, and they did.

20 years ago, I would call in sick and have it done in time to run to town by dark.
These days, I'm just proud of myself if I can spend 10 minutes a day wrenching on it.

Well I am back at this thing again. Looks pretty much the same still. I sold my other chop around a week ago so I would get off my a$$ and get to work on this one. I will see if I can get anything done this weekend on it.

Well, I torched and pounded out a seat from 3/16" plate. The plate came from a 1957 Michigan loader that I changed the seat pan out on last year. I dug up some old valve springs to use as seat springs, I haven't mounted those yet but I will have 14 spare springs after I do.
