OK, I think I am all caught up now, it's been almost 3 months and I'm hoping to have it finished the second week of May.

Looks very good. The VTX is a great bike to customize.

Thanks, I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Then I saw a few VTX's that had some custom work done that looked real nice. So I figured it would be a nice reliable daily rider.

Getting ready for the stripes, what do you think of the widths?

wow, looking good. I think stripes work real nice with the lines of the bike. I am not familiar with the taping, so how are the stripes gonna go? If you are gonna have pretty large stripe down the middle it would lend itself to some pinstriping or other work. If they seem too wide at first, A nice bit of the blue and cream stripes would help it pop and not seem too large. Although the colors that he is laying down look like they will cause a commotion wherever the bike goes.

Thanks for the compliments!

The middle stripe will be about 5" and there will be one 1/4" stripe on each side. The pinstriping is a good idea.

I'm pretty sure that is just the lighting, I expected it to look darker too. I really like it the way it looks in the pictures though.

I haven't see my new paint in person yet, but it seems to have a little silver & brassy speckle in it. So I was thinking of changing a few chrome items on my bike to help the brass/copper color flow a little better.

Eventually I will be adding a set of Morton's pipes, so they will color up nicely in gold/blue. The other parts circled in the pictures are what I am thinking about plating.

What do you guys think of this idea???

Finally picked up the newly painted parts yesterday. It's going to be a slow process putting it back together but I hope to be riding in at least two weeks.

I am doing a LOT of new and re wiring during the assembly. Took me all morning just to get rear fender on. (Broke a bolt in one of the struts and to change the tail light wiring)

I like to take a lot of pictures along the way, so here you go.

Looks good, have you considered one of the rear caliper relocators that tuck the caliper up underneath the swingarm.

Actually, I did buy a bracket but it didn't work with my swing arm.
