I really like the looks of the first pic. That gusset work has a nice line to it.
I'm just curious why you didn't follow through on the other side with the same type of gusset on the bottom?

You could mate in another piece to match the same curve and then blend the whole thing with some body filler. No one would ever know they were two pieces antway. At least it would match and I'll bet you would like it better.

Dude.....you need help.....
It's a hardtail....springs are for girls!
Call me when you get a chance...I got my bike back.....
There is going to be metal carnage in my garage again...I intend to offend as many citizens as possible.
I am going to do rude unthinkable things with classic metal.
I am going to call forth the demons and minions of Satan to shatter the silence of night with thunder and screams of terror.
I am going to watch the slack-jawed "custom" riders worrying about their paint jobs and Kuryakin chrome crap as their testicles shrink from just being near the fire breathing Triumph beast.
Guard your women...heck....guard your dogs....I'm back.
Call me....let's get that Yammy on the road. I wanna show you what some properly massaged old Brit iron can do with a deffective nut connecting the seat to the handlebars.
Call me. You're gonna be in the wind if I have to drag that thing with my Triumph.
Be careful....the Chopper Gods are watching....and they hate unfinished choppers.......

Looks to me like it's shaft drive and it's hard to tell past the gusset, but it dosn't seem to be lengthened?? I could be wrong? If it was lengthened? It would need the drive shaft lengthened to match the extra length of the outer drive shaft housing. and that will eather require welding a new section to the old shaft, ( problematic at best ) or just have a new shaft machined. (the better but more expensive idea)
chain drives are easy to get in extended lengths, or made longer by employing master links, and the desired length of extra chain.
