My ole buddy Corey came out and hung out yesterday and helped me get some shit done on my scoot. Got the gusset welded up (he is a better welder than I by far).

I decided that I am not comfortable with depending on the cast aluminum shock mount on the left side being the only thing seperating my ass from the moving tire. So we removed the studs from the differential and built a bracket to bolt there. The bracket will be welded and gusseted to the tube and the gusset.

Im also Going to built something to bolt from the shock mount to the axle. Might look a little odd,,,but Im willing to sacrifice looks for safety. Hopefully Ill get that all done today. Its slow going when the only thing you have to cut flat stock is a cutoff wheel and an air compresser that doesnt keep up. Guess those are the little things that make this a real homebuilt chopper!

Alright,,,,I wasnt happy with the cast aluminum shock mount ,,,so Corey and I cut that above bracket out of 1/8" steel,,,Finally got it to fit,,,bolted it to where the tourqe tube meets the differential,,,and welded it to the Gussett.
