seat pan
I am trying to build my seat pan. I never did one before. It is going on a Paucho hard tail frame. I am not sure I will use springs or show. I need some help regarding gauge of metal. Also, are there patterns or dimensions I should use to lay out the templet? Any and all help is appreciated.

16 awg should work for you
patterns or templates nope don't think so
try sitting on some different ones and see what fits you
then copy that
if you spring it you want to put some extra support where the springs and pivot will mount

If you start with a tractor seat it will have the right shape and be very comfortable.
I will post some pics.

Compound curvature and 5/16 round bar all the way around so the covering will not get cut.

The back
I call this seat the Pizza cut seat! The best of all. BTW the behive 3 inch springs are the best.

Thanks long chopper.
The best seat for a rigid is a spring seat but it must be level.
Has to be a compound curve, not just a potato chip.
