Not for the chopper but the escort truck

I am looking for someone to make me a dash panel blank (aluminum??) for my 76 Dodge truck. I will be putting in a Dakota Digital universal digital gauge cluster and need the original gauge panel replaced.

http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...prd_zm_371.jpg

It seems pretty straight forward but would probably be nicer done by someone with the right tools.

I can send the dash (the hole) and the original parts if someone is interested in taking it on?

Here is "the hole"

This is the original dash panel. It is missing the left wing that is angled like the right

Another shot of the original panel

Ya know ....... if you can lay it out on cardboard you can then have it transfered over to a CAD design that a water jet or lazer jet person could cut out.

It's not brain surgery ......... take your time & lay it out.

Laying it out is not the part I am concerned with.

It has a 90 deg. bend on the top that is about 2-1/2" that I am sure would look hacked up with a vise or a set of duck bills. On top of that the lower lip needs a small 90 so the bottom of the dash can screw to it.

I thought it might be something relatively easy for someone with a metal shear and a brake. Nothing like putting a nice dash in a shithole panel that you made with a vise and some vise grips.

Countless hours of my time and the not having the material or tools to quickly make a change to a design means this could quite possibly not get done.

Cash + Dash = .........more to come, i hope?

as an alternative yo could use the original panel and have it coated.http://www.wtp-technics.co.uk/. I had my wifes streetfighter bodywork dipped in Carbon Fibre and you cant tell it apart from the real stuff. Cheap as well ! They do all sorts of paterns and I have had my NOZ bottles done in titanium as an alternative to chrome.

Well she is done......

I suppose 4 cases of beer for the learning experience is not a bad price.

The guages are due to arrive any minute from big brown. I will post pics of the guages and such if anyone is interested?

Well here is the dash insert I made out of brushed aluminum. Actually it is a kick panel for a front door I bought at home depot

The bends are not as tight as I would have liked them but it will work.

And the final install with everything hooked up. I think it turned out pretty good.
