Hardtail kit

i have 98 Sportster 1200c ,,,and wondering the difference in a weld on,,and a bolt on hardtail kit,,,ive heard on a bolt on kit you have to use a spring seat,,,uggg ,,need experianced answer or suggestions please,,,Thank you,,Tony

You want to use a good weld on kit, I like TC Bros kits, they fit great and they're really strong when you're done. The kit is pre-slugged for your frame and once it's fitted you can bolt your engine in and tack weld the hardtail on so you know you're square, then finish weld it an you're done.
