I read the review of the 127" and was wandering if you guys have done any thing with the 120", what's the normal mods? Whats your opinion on these?

Here is a repost of previous reply to others that have asked about us and Ultima.


Several on this board have asked why we at KJC are no longer offering Ultima based engines so I have decided to post several of our reasons. Let it be said that we are in no way bad Mouthing Midwest or Ultima but just stating our reasons for not using their engine components.

These are just a few of the reasons . I will not post any more regarding this issue.

*We have noticed that many of these engines leak oil at the gasket surfaces no matter what you do to seal said surface.

* The engines use parts from several third party vendors which Ultima has no control over and we at KJC are concerned about the use of some of these products in a high horsepower engine.

* Improper tolerances with some of the rocker boxes. ( I believe that Ultima has corrected this now )

We do believe that overall the Ultima crate motors are a good buy for the money and will suit most riders. We do not feel that the engines in there present state are suitable for high horsepower builds. The engines have one of the best head designs on the market and we feel that with further product R&D that Ultima could be something that we would look at picking back up in the future.
