JR Cycle Works... .changes

things have been pretty hectic around our world with the travelling for BAKER, but also: because JR Cycle Works went under some changes! all good changes, but it changed me and Evan's world overnight.

for anyone who didnt know: my boyfriend Evan was a partner at this shop, and they did pretty well. they are the traveling install crew for BAKER, they build some pretty wicked bikes (as you can see from old posts), and are just amazing, passionate, knowledgeable guys.

well, this summer, Evan took over the bike shop 100%. So its him there, and if you still need parts help: his boy Tim is still around up front. But Jason, his old partner, has left the business for other endeavors.

They still have the best couple of mechanics/engine tuners and builders in the Detroit area, and are working hard to get the shop back to the grassroots, service shop it needs to be. They have a Dyno room, full service fabrication area, heated winter storage, are dealers for every major Distributor and Manufacturer there is... etc.

So anyone in the Detroit area: check them out pretty please. i'm so proud of the work he's doing (plus my tattoo shop is in the same building hahaha)

also: gots a myspace: www.myspace.com/plymouthcycleandspeed

and finally: send Evan an email and tell him he needs to join Club Chopper lol
evan@jrcycleworks.com. i've been prodding him forever to join.

i didnt want to jump on here and advertise for them, but i really want to see him succeed and i love the kind of attitude that you guys all have when it comes to bike building and modifications... plus most of you have been around since before there was a "me and Evan" and i was all ga-ga over him. lol.

xooxox

This is Jason...I was the "J" in the J R. Trish is right! Evan and his crew are the best in the business at what they do. They truly are the ONLY "Full Service" motorcycle shop in the Detroit area. I am proud to have been involved over the last five years and I know that Evan is very passionate about being the best. His crew are 100% soid guys and they know their shit! I wish Evan and Trish all the luck and love in the world (and I hope they make lots of babies too). From your bike to your skin...J R Cycle Works is the place to go. I have quite a bit of Trish's work on my body she is the best! Check them out. Trish forgot the phone #734-416-8480.

Not from the area, and have no affiliation, but it speaks VOLUMES that a former partner can come on here and speak so highly of them. A true testiment of character, which seems to have been replaced these days by the chasing of the dollar.

And people wonder why I love this shit so much........

I wish the best of luck to you.

Evan and I traveled the country in an F150 for five years together meeting as many kick ass people we could along the way. We built bikes together that ended up on the inside of magazines like The Horse and Cycle Source. But like all good things, there must be an end. My future is in Florida and I expect to be there in the next 30 days. As for J R Cycle Works...they have a great relationship with EVERY SINGLE MANUFACTURER in the industry! They are the ONLY place to get Baker Drivetrain stuff, and like I said before, Evan is in it for the long haul. I think I am more than qualified to make that statement and I know what kind of working principles he has...it doesnt matter if you live in Detroit or the FIji Islands...if you need something call them, they can and will get it for you.

After watching Motor City Motors and not keeping up with where JR Cycleworks is at,I thought the shop had closed down. I am glad to know that has not happened as I have seen or heard of way too many closing. I m lookking forward to this year as hopefully we all start coming out of the red and start getting back into the black. I have only met you guys maybe a couple of times but I have heard many good things about your work ethics and service to your customers-all of which will serve you well in the future. Hopefully we will meet on the road or at a show and I can wish you luck in person. With Trish behind or I should say beside him,Evan and the guys should do well. Having Bert on your side should be a big boost as well. You probably don't need any help from me but if there is ever anything you might need where I could help-don't hesitate to ask.
