I'm looking for an 883 doner bike because I'm going to have engine work done to it and I figure I could pick up an 883 cheaper than a 1200. Got my eye on a 1999 with 12,800 for miles. Real clean trying to get it for $2500

have you thought about looking at similar year Buells with the thunderstorm heads? Might get one even cheaper and have a higher tuned motor. It definitely worked out better for me doing that. Just a thought.

I did think about that, but there is a better market for selling off the sportster parts than the Buell

I figure if I buy right, I should be able to get a good portion of my money back through selling the parts off.

Got my wheels mounted today. I actually had them done at the local Yamaha dealer. Took my last set to the HD dealer and they gave them back to me with the rear tire half on and said they couldn't do it. Yamaha dealer charged my $125 for mounting bothe tires, pressing in the rear bearings and balancing. Didn't think that was a bad price.

here's a pic of them mounted

I mounted a set before and you're right about that 250. But I needed the bearings pressed ( which I probably could have done ) and also needed them balanced. I figured $125 is really not that bad for all that

HD sucks they're a bunch of prima donnas. its a shame when you have to go to a rice dealer to get something done. In todays world a $125 MAY pay a couple hours labor and I'm sure that took 2 hrs.

tiny porcelan beads 1 oz rolling inside the front tire and 2 -3 oz inside the rear( per table)- will dynamicaly balance the wheelfor the life of the tire- and without the ugly weights.
i have it on mine- works great.
