Just in case you guys forgot, I won this paint job in an online auction to raise money for a homeless person. Latisha donated the proceeds to help get her back on her feet. In a way she is doing this work on her own dime so to speak.
I had my pick from anyone on the forum to paint my bike but I went with Latisha to help out with a worthy cause. Besides, when I saw the work she did on the Dave Mann bike, I couldn't pass up on a chance for her to do mine.
Saint Shawn kinda has a nice ring to it too! LOL

Thanks for the offer but I'm not sure when the paint will be finished.
I did get the chopper motor back today with the new cam and ignition installed. The damn rocker box covers didin't fit though. I will have to get those swapped out this week for the right ones. It looks pretty sweet with the polished cylinders and heads though.
While we're talking motors, I made a lot of progress on the replacement motor for the Softail, this weekend. Everything is disassembled and I'm ready to strip and repaint the cylinders and heads. I'm just waiting on some gaskets and other parts before I can start putting it back together.
Jay at Guilty Customs is helping me out with parts and I should have eveything I need in the next couple of weeks. It looks like I could be riding the Softail again before Christmas! Man, that would be nice!

Hummmmm Now I can understand having to put off shawn a bit because of the "paying" customers. Gotta eat and pay the bills. But damn this is getting rediculous! I also know this isn't going to help LW in the eyes of potential customers reguardless of how good the job turns out. Most people just don't have anywhere near that kind of patience. Not saying that all of LW's work takes that long. Don't know how long it would normally take her to do an all ouit paint job of her best work. All I'm saying is if I made a commitment to someone I would do my damdest to keep that commitment. Been there before . Wouldn't be the first time my mouth overloaded my ass. BUT trying to make good on that commitment would become my top priority. I don't care how busy you are or how many "Paying" customers you have or how cheaply your doing this or whatever excuse you have for justifing taking a whole year to paint shawns parts. YOU made the deal no-one forced you to raffle off the job. Although it was a very good thing to try and help a person in need and I do commend you for that.
YOU made that decision and YOU are the only one that can take care of the problem. I always try to ask myself If I were in my customers shoes would I be happy with anything I offer to them. Would YOU be happy with waiting a year for shawn to paint your parts??? Doubt it. "Kicking customers out the door" to get his parts done may be exactly what it takes if you can't somehow find the time to do his stuff. Enough already. Now I'm sure I'm gonna move down your people I like on CC list but I can live with that. When its done and I see pictures of the awsome work that I know you are capable of with a picture of you smiling (as you are a cutie) I'll be the first to brag on what a great job you did. Maybe then I can move back up a notch or two LOL

That would be very cool! I appreciate your reply and look forward to your next update!
I've been keeping busy rebuilding the motor for the Softail. Jay at Guilty Customs has been hooking me up with all the parts I needed. I can't thank him enough for what he's doing for me!

I think I'm looking at this thread as a soap opera or a reality show. First the major frame issues then the paint. I want to make sure Shawn stays on the island and wins the big bucks.
So, this is later in the week. What's the update? Or are we still channel surfing?

Latisha tells me that the tank will be sealed next week. It will be block sanded along with the fenders one more time after that. The frame still needs to be molded and the oil tank prepped. She's talking about mixing up the color for the base coat and sending me a sample to approve.
She's also working on the layout for the graphics. It is progress.
