Nope, these are just the valve cap. NOT the stem covers.
I have seen long stem covers in walmart. Most any auto parts store should have them.

Idle Cable
I am thinking about going with a different throttle housing. Do we need to use the dual cable set up for the throttle? I thought that the idle cable was for setting the idle speed. If it is then we dont need it. We have a screw to set the idle. RIGHT???

I use the single cable. Works just fine. Most of the single throttle housings use a threaded on cable, so you will need another throttle cable. Big John

If you look at the pic i have of my forward controls you will see it. Yes it did mess up the chrome on the kickstand but I was looking for something that would make the kickstand more funtional/easier for me to use. I will get a closer picture of it tmmr and post.
Have a good one,

brad 1161, here is your new seat. I hope you like what you see! It will go out via UPS tomorrow.
I made the top and sides "distressed" looking like a worn out saddle as per Brad's request.
The sides are all one piece. No seam in the front or the back.
This is my second seat. I've already got some ideas to make #3 even better.

Anybody do the "no power to the coils trick" yet? I am planning to do this...my FN battery doesn't seem to have enough juice to start the bike everytime.
I rode about 15 miles to a store on Saturday, and when I came out, she didn't have enough juice to turn over. Not sure if I have a charging system problem, or that the bike just sucks so much energy out of the battery that I need to go on a very long ride to replace the spent energy every time...
I may go with compression releases if the wiring trick doesn't work...I am going to use a flip-switch mounted up on the coil bracket next to the choke...so when I am cranking I can flip on the power...I'll report back once I get it done.

Milenko,
Do you have the ignition set up so you can crank the engine without the headlight being on?? Are you backing it off the compression stroke? Every little bit helps.

No...headlight is on whenever the key is on. I do back it off the compression stroke though...
Part of me wonders if my battery doesn't just need to be conditioned. I never had it on a charger...wore it down when I initially fired it up, and since then, it's been charged only on fairly short rides...I may need to just slow charge it...but I am going to try the re-wire of the coils because it seems easy enough and will spare me the expense of the compression releases...

I decided to bite the bullet and order the spyke compression releases. I bought a set saturday and didn't realize they were 14 mm, so I had to take them back. I'm placing an order for the 12 mm size today. Anyone know anything about what those long sparkplugs in the spyke system cost if you have to replace them?

hey milenko,
i have mine set up that way right now, and i only use it when my batery isn't fully charged and when it is very cold out is the only time that i have to use that switch, all you have to do is mount a switch in line with the White/black wire, trust me, you will like it

Super! Thanks for the tip...I'm gonna give that a shot...I think that'd do the trick for cold starts and if I can save the cash on the compression releases, that's a bonus too.
