My painter was pretty disappointed with the finish of the tins too. He said that he expected something that came from WCC to be in a little better shape. Oh well.

The tins suck as far as finish. West coast choppers my ass, the fucking things are made in Taiwan. But still, Custom Chrome charges $600 for that fucking tank and it needs more body work than Roseann Barr. Whew, now that that's off my chest!
As far as the fender strap goes, I drilled my fender and tapped the strap to the size of the screws that came with it. The strap came with 2 bolts taped to the blister pack that it came in.
I'm getting ready to start tearing her down for paint today............
Lets all keep in touch and swap pics and info..........

I hate to correct someone, but the tins are made in Mexico, even tho the name on the tank and rear fender are Jessy James.... I was supprised about that to, but at least they arent hand hammered out and need a ton of putty...... as I've heard his stuff needs.
Also, Im not the painter!

Hey guys ,just came in from the shop.Got the oil lines ran, clutch cable installed and a couple of other things done. My kit did come with wiring directions for the harness but it makes no mention of the 5 wires coming out of the headlight. Also Mike since you have actually ridden yours is your clutch really stiff??? I've adjusted 9 ways to sunday and still feels wrong? Did you use all 9 springs?
As far as quality of the tins goes .I own a body shop and do custom paint . I've seen alot better and some worse. To get a good finish your gonna have to dress the edges up and put on a thin layer of filler. I'd stay clear of trying to get it smooth with just putty as thats not what putty is designed to do. Remember this thing is gonna have some wicked vibrations and you dont want cracks. Only take a few hours to get them straight. I crapped the front fender and put on one from milwalkee iron. It was quite a bit better but still needed work for a good finish. Not to mention give the bike a whole different look. This is my first complete build from a kit bike but have helped in a few projects of others as well as tons of customizing and don't have a clue as to how many I've painted. Been really busy at work so haven't had a chance to upload pics but hopefully willbe able to soon.
A question at miami do ya'll buy any kits ahead or is everything strictly order and wait? Waiting sucks and it looks like this one may be sold so I might be looking for another one. Figured I would at least get to ride it for awhile before that happened but money is money and to me building is fun. I'll get some pics up as soon as a get a chance hopefully this weekend.

Magicman,
The clutch is tight and Its not that bad when you use 8 springs (That's what I'm using). Custom Chrome said that you can run with 6 springs and you shouldnt have a problem.

Pics are up. Finished up the rear wheel stuff and odds and ends last night. Spent all morning figuring out how to upload the pics on here . Got Brake lines and wiring to go. Fuel tank is just sitting on for the pics. Did anyones headlight come with directions? I still need to ID the 5 wires? Otherwise I guess I'll call tech support. Well time to get busy will update soon.

Mike, SWEET flames!! I like the fish hook effect on them!
I am also going with flames, but more the hot rod style. I will post picks when painted.
