branding and marketing are the keys
just because you open the door doesn't mean a thing
sounds kind of harse but its business

you need to put something out there that you've built (hopefully not something everyone can duplicate by bolting parts together)....people need to see your innovative style (if ya have one)......if not...ur pretty much screwed. I gotta tell ya and no dis-respect intended at all but I would've researched a better money making possibility shop wise.....choppers are cool and all but the days of making money hand over fist at it are loong gone IMO.

You picked the wrong business to start since the fad is over.
Sounds like you didn't or don't have a very good business plan - starting a business with no potential customers (any business) is not a very wise move.
The shops in my area that were around before the fad are still doing well - their doing the same thing they always have done - bike repairs and selling small parts. And like the old days, their not getting rich, their just making a modest living.
Those in my area that jumped on the fad band wagon are now gone.

The Fashion show is over...........bikers will get their lifestyle back from the wannabe's and shops that offer a good, reliable service with quality at reasonable prices will always survive as they are in it for life and not just a pay cheque..............
