Wish I would have known this ahead of time.......................Requested a single Downtube Frame with 2" up and 3" rear stretch. Ohh I also ordered 1 1/2 inch tubing. Was going for the fat frame look. Well long story short, I went to pick up the frame yesterday and I now have 2 downtubes with 1 1/4 inch tubing. But i have had to much trubble with this guy, so i won't even bother trying to get a refund or a new frame. The work seems to be on top, but his customer service is the worst i have ever seen.

I walked into his shop and introduced myself and told him that I was there to get my frame. He pointed towards the back of the shop not saying a single word. His employee informed me that the frame sitting in the fare back was my frame. No one helped load the frame or even bring it to the front door. I had to walk to the back of his shop and bring the frame to my truck by myself. When I asked him if the MSO was ready to go he handed me a document with the wrong information on it and tryed to send me on my way. Well that wasn't going to happen till the MSO was fixed with the right information. He ended up fixing it right there. I think he is about as sick and tired of dealing with me as i am with him. And all that because i fould a better deal on a Driveline Kit with another dealer. He was Pissed that I saved 1700.00$ by buying from someone else.

have you paid with a card?
A credit card company would collect money back for you. That and the cash back is all they are good for.

doesn't that only work while the charge is current on the card statement? i'm not sure 1-1/2 years after the fact that's an option, but i'd be very curious to learn if i was wrong.

Ya, I'm going to be calling the card company's. I will let ya know. If I don't get a product I should get my money back. Only one would think. I have kept all texts and emails. So that I have a paper trail.

you might be correct, but i would still try with the credit company, even if it seems too late according to the agreement. After all, they had been part of this financial transaction[ or scam].

Perhaps, to protect their face /image[ and customers] they might be wiling to go beyond the letter of the agreement, put pressure on the seller[ threaten to drop him from their coverage] .
Perhaps legal actions could be taken against credit card company for fiduciary negligence at best and conspiracy [with the seller] of fraud at worst

I have run into similar problems with ordering and paying and not getting a product.
I am beginning to think the problem is a drug or alcohol problem.

Just guessing.

Hi, ... yep...
I can substantiate the claims against Thompson Choppers. I too fell victim to the ruse. (in 2018) Paid $$$$$.$$ for a custom frame; and for about the first year to 18 months communication was there but less than acceptable. TC claimed autocad was not to be able to interpret my design files. Had an independent third party use a trail version of autocad and verified my files were indeed usable. Then communication became less and less until nothing.
Filed a BBB complaint. Result: BBB said to me they are not an "enforcement agency".... go figure.
Filed a Federal Trade Commission complaint. Result: nothing was done.... it seems to me if the funding amount is less than about 9-10 digits (or more) they take a "meh - it's pocket change..." stance. FIVE+ DIGITS IS NOT POCKET CHANGE FOR ME!!

This guy should be permanently put out of business....

I even went so far as to contact the great state of Missouri. Found a court case involving TC and contacted the Plaintiff. His reply to me when asked for a good lawyer recommendation was (paraphrased) "let me know when you find one and maybe we can get something done.". Contacted a local lawyer (to me) whom recommended NOT to contact the Missouri State Attorney Generals Office ---> but I was on that path.

Just plain disgusting.

Anyone attempting to use TC should exercise EXTREME CAUTION. IMHO --> DO NOT USE THOMPSON CHOPPERS!!! My experience is you will lose your money... and not get ANYTHING in return, period.

Might lose my Club Chopper membership from this, my one and only post... but if some unsuspecting bike builder gets to avoid a costly mistake then it is all worth it....IMHO.
... ph@ch 'em!
