Hey guys, thanks for all the compliments! This bike is the result of a lifetime of dreaming to build this style bike. It started as I was growing up in the 60's & 70's & me & a couple of my buds would chop our stingray bikes, extend the forks, raise a sissy bar, throw on some apes, fab a banana seat, rattle can the frame & terrorize the neighborhoods! My bicycle back then was a lot like what you see here, which was the intent.
I initially contracted a guy to assemble this from a build sheet I supplied with very detailed specifics & he failed misserably to meet what was in writing & it turned into a nightmare of an ordeal! So after 2 yrs. of trying to go legal on this turd, I finally decided to quit throwing money away, because the system protects thieves like him. With the help of a few good friends & the fine CC members here always willing to share knowledge, I decided to rebuild it myself. A total strip down & reconstruction job. A few things were changed & altered & replaced or removed & a ton of lessons & knowledge for me resulted & I loved every second of the experience! Here are a few details on the bike:
DNA Softail 200 frame ( was suppose to be a Wyatt Gatling); Mid USA Springer; 103 c.i. S&S Panhead motor; Baker OD 6sp. trans.; Tauer Mach. 3" open primary; Compufire starter; Renegade Vail wheels; Hawg Halters calipers; Jay Brake controls; RSD apes; custom seat & exhaust.
I'm still breaking this bike in & it is a blast to ride, the 103 pan is a beast! It is very loud & attracts attention everywhere I go. I also want to say that all the bikes on here are cool & unique in their own way & I'm a fan of all of them! I love those Sportys & anyone that sacrifices their skin & blood during their build has my utmost respect! Chopsmitty, that is one awesome machine, would love to hear it running! H2O, your bike looks like it's going 120 mph sitting still, badass! I feel I need to share this honor with all of you because of the unique cool factor each one has! Thanks again guys, hope to meet ya'll in person some time!
