malware alerts

suddenly (as in today, maybe yesterday), i've started getting alerts when i click on some pages on CC that say the pages may contain malware. all of these warning reference content from planetsmilies.com.

happens to me on old threads and new ones, but not on most. anyone else having this suddenly?

Getting the same thing here Poop. Site was fine real early yesterday morning but when I checked in a lunch time there it was. I use Google Chrome with Norton and here's what shows up on most threads...

OK,.........it might be my Camaro GIF in my signature. Another site I'm a member of was having the same issue,.........some people noticed it,..........some didn't. The mod asked a few to remove their emots from their signatures, including me. I didn't think it was mine causing the problem for 2 reasons,.........I've had it there for months,......and I have Norton protection on my computer, and it never alerts me of the possible threat.

So,.........can anyone zero in on my posts, and see if it's my signature cartoon Camaro doing it,........if it is, I'll remove it right away.

i do now have that warning for this thread. i think that must be it. can you delete it for a few hours, see if that fixes it? i'll give feedback as soon as i have a chance to follow it up.

well, i had to select ignore warning to read this thread. now that i have, it no longer shows it for any thread. i'm not sure what that means, except that i can't tell you anymore if it's your signature or not.

looking at your post history, it could be. i mean, it's not a definitive way to do it, but you have posted in the threads that were giving me that warning.

so does that mean there's malware in your signature? the warning said my computer could get a virus. i hope that by clicking to ignore that warning so i could view this thread, that i haven't set myself up to get something (again). i seem to lose nearly a week of work when i get virus issues, it seems. drawback of having a small business and no IT guy. i'm everything from business owner down to janitor.

Ok,........I deleted it. I don't think anyone will have a virus because of it,.........but the warning is to let you know that the site it came from has been known to spread stuff. Better safe than sorry, right.

That may have been it Frank. It showed up in this thread when you first posted but has now vanished. I was getting the same warning in Sam's thread (plus several others) and it seems to be gone.
