Picture, or it didn't happen ... 60 Vette project

Well, Spade says if you don't have pictures then it didn't happen, so I am gonna try this Photobucket and see if I can get it to work.

Here is the1960 Corvette project I got going on..

Frame off restoration is a BIG job, I hope its worth it...

Hope you enjoy the pics, (sorry for the crappy quality).

Hey Fogg, Mostly restoration, a few performance (and safety) upgrades. I spend pretty much all my free time working on the Vette, got the frame sand blasted and painted, front suspension and steering , rear axle, transmission, shifter, clutch, and windshield all restored and finished. The (1962 SB 327) machine work done, it's bored .030 over and the crank is polished, I'm using 1966 202 (#462 code) heads with SS valves, it's mostly put back together so it's back in the chassis. I got the wheels (Cragar SS w/spinners) and wide whitewalls all mounted up and on the car. The only mods I'm doing to the car are VB&P monocoque rear leafs and Wilwood four piston disks all ther way around. Also, I am using a solid lifter cam and roller chain, as well as a Pertronics ignition, not much else. I only have a little left on the motor so should cranking it up here real soon.

I like 59-60 best, (I've been after one for 39 years) my next favorite is a 64 roadster.

That looks like a cool project to be working on.

That's going to be one hell of a killer ride when you're done. Keep us posted and keep on sending pics.

Good luck.

That was the original plan Bob, ( AM frame and crate 502) but after seeing the condition of the frame and the overall condition of the car, and after a very good conversation with my 83 year old Father, with his wishes (& wisdom) for me not to molest a classic piece of motoring history, I've changed my direction toward a more traditional nostalgic Resto-mod.

Bob,

Yep, my Pop is a pretty good guy whom I respect and admire, we understand each other. Plan is for Ermine White (Ivory), with pigeon blood red coves & red leather interior (white soft top). And yes, the car will come back with me when my service over here is complete.

wow-I wouldn't know where to start with that. They certainly don't build em like that anymore. You go to these motor museums and todays version of pretty much every car doesn't even come close to what went before them. Change and technology aint always a good thing...
