Happy Birthday ARMY

Happy Birthday to my Brothers and Sisters in arms.

And to those few spineless, delusional cowards here who do not support our forces,

FUCK YOU...

We shall forever bow to noone.

-------Message below from the Army 38th Chief of Staff General Raymond T. Odierno--------

Today, we celebrate the 237th birthday of our Army.

For 237 years, our Soldiers, Civilians and Families have been the
strength of our Nation in peace and at war.

Today, America's Army is engaged in nearly 150 countries around the
world, on 6 of 7 continents, with over 94,000 Soldiers deployed today
and 94,000 forward stationed. Our Nation depends on its Army to defend
the shores of our homeland, defeat enemy forces abroad, and help with
recovery efforts in the wake of natural disasters.

We have the best equipped, best trained, and best led Army in history
because of the 1.1 million professional Soldiers who serve in the Active
Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve, as well as the dedicated
service of our Army Civilians. It is our Army's competence,
adaptability, moral character, and resolute commitment that defines us
as professionals and guarantees our long-standing sacred trust with the
American people.

I'm proud of your accomplishments, your sacrifice, and your selfless
dedication to our Army and to the Nation. Today, on its 237th birthday,
we honor our Army and the remarkable men and women, past and present,
who have embraced our Nation's call to service. Army Strong!

Raymond T. Odierno
General, 38th Chief of Staff
United States Army

The Strength of our Nation is our Army
The Strength of our Army is our Soldiers
The Strength of our Soldiers is our Families
This is what makes us "Army Strong!"

Army Birthday

Ok guys here is something funny and sad at the same time.

Iraq 2009 the Army birthday came around the chow hall had cakes out the yin yang on this day ok. A Army guy comes up and says wow "it is the Army's birthday today I didnt know that", So me being a Marine got the bright idea is to take a survey and see how many guys knew when the Army birthday was. Out of the 25 guys I asked there was only two who actully knew it and thats because they looked at the signs hanging up in the chow hall. No being in the Marines (THANK YOU JESUS) along with 200,000 other Marines you can go ask any Marine no matter if he is a WW II vet all the way to todays wars you will not find one Marine who doesn't know when the Marine Birthday is. I will make a bet with any of you no matter what generation Marine he will know.

Yep Gunney, Nov 10th is right up there with June 14th

In their defense, when deployed (as you know) days turn into weeks turn into months (groundhogs day effect). Having been there, I can understand their (most likely) not knowing what day of the months it was, much less a significant day of remembrance. Sad that they didn't know off-hand , but that you asked them while serving voluntarily in the AOR speaks volumes toward selfless service and committment..

Army Birthday

And to answer your question about being in the feild days and weeks on end and not knowing what day it is. Boss man this was a Army medic in an Army hospital where I was staying having shrapnel removed from my legs. And please don't tell me noone knows that days of the week it is, That is all we did over there is count the days of the week month on the calenders we had in our pockets that were given to us by the USO so is there anything else boss. SEMPER FI!!! army strong
