family night at a concert

We (the family) are going to the local arena to see a band called FRONTIERS (Journey tribute band). From everything I've read/heard, they're suppose to be damn good. The dude that does the singing was actually picked to front Journey when they were looking for a replacement a few years back.

I guess he bailed on them because his wife was pregnant at the time & he didn't want to leave her at home by herself. One of the songs he wrote actually made it on Journey's Revelation CD.

Neal Schon said when the dude auditioned, he sounded so much like Steve Perry that it gave him chills.................I'll be the judge of this statement in about 2 hours

Tickets for the 4 of us were only $64, front row center (gotta give the 2 kids room to dance )

This will be the 2nd concert for bother of them........starting them young.

Hell, my parents never took me to a concert in my lifetime. Momma's driving and daddy's going to have himself a few $5.00 beers this evening.

Show was actually damn good, singer is "no piece of eye candy" according to my wife.....
I try and not be a judge of men's looks. I will say he's does a Helluva job singing all the Journey hits, I can see why the band wanted this dude.

They played for over 2 hours, definately a bit loud in the front row, but the kids had a blast (yes, they had ear plugs). Would I go see them again...........you bet.

Here recently in OHIO (Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus area) we've been getting a shit-load of bands coming around. In the next 3 months I could hit a show every week IF I had the $$$ to blow.

I have a dude that use to work with me who moved to TEXAS (south of Houston) a year or so ago..........says there is not much happening around him concert wise.
