Simon is that a snorkel on the fender or a tow mirror? .... cool lookin ride

for the 4x4 guys, i haven't personally seen the Hummers in action, but i think you would be hard pressed to beat an old Willys jeep. If they had independent suspension, they would be unstopable...

I don't think an H3 would have too much trouble beating a Willys jeep off road.

Condescending tone? WTF? So it's about me? I thought it was about trucks. Imagine my surprise.

Well since you have obviously never even ridden in either one, maybe you should wait until one of your relatives dies and leaves you their mobile home. Then sell it, buy an H3, and let me know what you think. Jesus fucking Christ.

See that? Condescending fucker...you think your better than everyone else and your constantly trying to tell everyone that you are. ...I bet your a borderline midget.
I have ridden in several Willys jeeps and still have family memebers that own some...WW2 era jeeps and not many if any of todays class 4x4's can out mud or out climb them.
You are right, i dont know about the hummers, but what i do know is most of "you people" (i said most) that own them wouldn't know how to drive one off road anyway.
Kudos to the guy that posted this thread though, because he's actually using the thing the way it was intended to be used.

I off-road anything!! Pure REDNECK and proud of it!!! My wife wants another Wrangler, CJ7 or Renegade, or even a Rubicon. I told her we need to get an older CJ7 and do a complete from the ground up set up on it so it could be used as an everyday driver, but on the weekends it could just walk off the asphalt and into the dirt without worrying about getting it's sneakers dirty.

Picture of the jeep we use now. Just a stocker/tame.

The buggy use when it's not broken.

What we use when the buggy is broken. The bikes.

Where we ride in Parker, AZ.

Where we ride in NH.

The whole Ford - Chevy (Jeep - Hummer), offroad thing goes on and on.

The solid axle of the Jeeps does help in rock crawling...... the way it aticulates is an advantage.

The Hummers are probably the best off the floor 4 wheeler made except for Jeeps Rubicon.

The Rubicon comes with front and rear locking differentials and electronic sway bar disconnect. The H3 only has a rear locker. They both have a 4:1 transfer case. The H3 has 4:56 gears and the Rubicon has 4:10's. The Hummers IFS suspensions don't flex like the Jeeps solid axles....... The whole Hummer twists not just the suspension....... Hummers don't "turn turtle" and flop on their sides and tops as much as Jeeps do though.

Most people who wheel hard don't leave them stock. Everyone I wheel with has spent thousands in modifications. Lifts, gearing, lockers, coilovers, engines, tires and wheels....... Hell the list is endless and just like bikes.

The best wheelers are hand made in the garage out of tubing! Why start with a road vehicle at all. They build them strong and light with clearance that no factory vehicle could ever get legally. Or else they cut away so much of the original vehicle they only have parts of the frame left.

This truck started life as an original Bronco........ not much Bronco left though.

Yup yup. The best rock crawlers are tiny buggies with 4 bangers. The Susuki Samuria is still a very capable crawler with a few mods. But when mud boggin you need a screaming big block and 44"s. It just depends on what your into.

All around 4x4's need flexability, articulation, low end grunt, clearance, limited slips, and short wheel bases....oh and a high lift jack. It doesnt matter which brand you own.

Of course Broncos are best though. :
