Unhappy Lost a son today.......

Don't mean to drag you all into this, just wanted to get some hurt off my heart. My son has been having problems and we have been trying to get him thru this troubled time in his life. Anyway,we called his phone this morning as he went out last night. A girl answered his phone, crying, and proceeds to tell my wife that Clayton was gone. He was taking medication and then was drinking last night. Passed out and the medical examiner is saying that he died from not breathing. Sleep apnea? Something like that. He was 26 yrs old. guys,if any of you have a kid who is having problems,my advice to you is to keep them on a short leash, let them know that you love them-no matter what. And hang on tight. I don't know what else we could have done differently and at this point it doesn't matter as we can not change it now anyway. We made the decision to donate whatever that can be used from his body to help others. He was the kind of guy who would help anyone, right down to giving the shirt off his back, which I have seen him do a couple of times. We thought that he would want us to donate parts of his body to help others. His eyes will go to help someone see again, ect.
I am asking that maybe some of you out there might say a prayer for him as he was good people. His name is Clayton Richard Allan. He was 26 years old. He has been my son since he was 2 years old. His father was killed in Texas on a chopper. A drunk ran a stop sign. Clayton was still in his Mother's womb. Because of the stress on her,he was born 2 1/2 months premature. He has always fought for physical wellness......... OK,I am rambling, please say a prayer for him and thank you in advance. I hope none of you have to bury a child. I have always thought when I have seen others who have to do this that there is nothing worse than having to do that. I have to go talk with a funeral home tomorrow. Obviously, financially I wasn't prepared for this, but I will get this taken care of. I am not asking for anything other than if you guys might take a minute and think of Clayton for a moment. I realize he is in a better place and no longer in pain For those of you who have taken part of your day to read my ramblings, thank you for spending some of your day and basically listening. After all, every minute is precious. Take care and God Bless. Jim Corcoran

Jim,
Thoughts and prayers go out to you on this difficult day.
I hate hearing stories like yours, but these unexplainable things happen and they happen to real people just like you.
Don't spend much time on the what if's and all. You've been there for him all these years and time is the most precious gift we give.
May your days ahead be better and may they be easier to bear as each day passes.
I'd bet he was good people because he was brought up by good people.
Hang in there.
Jim

RIP
Clayton Richard Allan

Jim,

I have no idea how you are able to hold it together, but you are 100x stronger than I'd ever be in that terrible situation.

I'm just one of the many people you may never get to meet that wishes you never had to go through this. But I promise you that I'll follow your advice, and not take any one day for granted.

God speed.
