PICS from the ATV trip Sat. 5/26/07

Snapped about 30 pics today during the riding. I missed a BUNCH of good shots BUT, everything happens while your riding. My 6yr. old nephew dumped his Kawasaki 50 about 10 minutes into the ride. We were riding thru the creekbed and it really didn't look too deep................WRONG. Now my brother and I have about 11"+ of ground clearance and water was on my floorboards . Well as he's riding thru he must have hit a rock & DOWN HE WENT. The only thing sticking out of the water was his handlebars & HIS HELMET. We picked it up, stood it up on end and watched the water run out. About 5 good kicks and she fired back up. He only rode for about 4 - 5 miles, it was just too damn rough for a little 6yr old on a 50cc bike. BUT he did give it a try which was very impressive!!

We ended up turning around and taking his bike back and he rode with his dad the rest of the day. We did about 25 miles of riding today and the kids were DEAD-TIRED when we got done. But they held up pretty damn well for only being 3 1/2 & 6 years old!!

Don't ask me how the Chevy Cavalier got back this far, especially with stock tires & rims. We're talking 3 or 4 miles WAY back in some rutted out trails. Guess it couldn't make it any farther, because it got TORCHED. This thing wasn't here 2 months ago when we were down there.

we stood around for about 10 minutes and watched a few OFF-Road vehicles tackle some pretty impressive mud-holes

Sounds and looks like it was a great trip. Those are the kind of things that are going to be memories for a lifetime for the little ones, and I bet in years to come for you too.

Yeah, it's in southern Ohio (Richland Furnace) about 15 miles southeast of Chillicothe. There are some killer off-road trails for vehicles. There was an "Off-Road" jam going on saturday, nothing sponsored, just something that people "know" thats happening every now & then. The pics I took of the trucks were taken about 5 miles back in the trails & I'd say a good 500ft "UP" from the lowest elevation of riding.

It's "tricky" just getting an ATV up there, let alone a big vehicle. The "mud-hole" the CHEVY was climbing out of was a good 3 - 4 ft DEEP. There are spots that seem damn near impossible to pass BUT, they get thru. I told a guy in a JEEP Cherokee that was following them, "now it's your turn to try the hole". He just laughed, and said, "NO WAY, I"M NOT GOING IN THERE".

Seeing as how it hasn't rained around here I figured I wouldn't need them for "mudding". And since I had my boy with me I knew I wouldn't be getting into any nasty climbing sisuations. The stock tires ride a little smoother on drier terrain also and I wanted him to be a comfortable as possible since we were going to do a few miles yesterday.

When we went down 2 months ago the quads were ALOT dirtier than yesterday. BUT, I forgot the camera then. You guys would have been proud because those "BLING-BLING" rims looked bad!!

Maybe it was left there by the Sopranos. Did you look in the trunk?

Looks like a cool spot. We go to Amish Country up here. (Cleveland 'burbs)

Ever go to Belmont County, the Egypt Valley Wildlife Area? Nice place to ride around, but watch yourself...
