We're still at it down here. There doesn't seem to be as much money coming through the house as there was 10- years ago but still jugging along..

I'd bet the picture wont change much over the next few months

I guess Qwickk's bike will remain as Chopper for Evermore... Even Mr. Scary has given up.

Im still at it but trying to sell off a few trying not to lose too much in the process. Recently sold a 72 shovel for 4500. ..that about sums up the market. Working out trades seems to be the next best alternative. Recently acquired a boss hog kit never assembled. That kinda livened up my creativity and renewed the spark. Im the only one around hear who daily rides a nickle plated rigid frame chopper.

I do not know if I have been thinking outside of the box except for my smart seats.I do know I cannot afford $1500.00 foot controls or $3000 dollar front springer forks.

They may be worth the price but I just cannot afford them so I make some of my own parts like the foot controls.
I did buy a $100 + Custom Dynamics "All in one tail light and saved money by not buying all separate components.

Some of the prospective builders may just be using smart phones and have not found Clubchopper.
Many of the younger guys are building "Bobbers". There is a very good build story on the Roadstar Clinic website that would be very interesting to Club chopper members.
I will see if he will post here.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, compared to when I was growing up, my teen years and into my 20s,.....the amount of younger people today, interested in Harleys and custom vtwin bikes is miniscule.

Go to any bike rally today,...majority of bikers are over 40,.....and most of the younger people who even attempt to attend those rallies are there to dink and party,....and don't even ride.

I just started tracking Harley Davidsons on Ebay and to see how bad the economy is and what these folks are letting their bikes go for is not surprising. Custom bikes are tough to sell but so are Harleys, a seller here in Jersey let his gorgeous Fatboy go for $5000, it was a 100th Ann with $6K in upgrades. And Sporties? more like $1500

Cars are down too but the boating industry has really taken a hit. You can buy some really nice boats for a fraction of what they used to cost.

Its been a buyers market for all play toys for years now. Its a sad thing for those having to rough it out. Luckily been fortunate to be in a field that hasn't taken a hug hit.

I think you will find the problem is not that young guys aren,t interested in riding , its that they aren,t interested in being ignored or talked down to be a pack of old wannabees who basically have watched one to many episodes of sons of anarchy .
Im new to this chopper scene , but have been around the bike scene all my life ( both new Zealand and Australia ) and most bike runs now days are just a joke , the all have the latest Harleys with the crap they have brought off ebay , or some custom mass produced thing and they carry on like they are Jessie james or occ .... and heaven forbid when they hit the open road , most so called bikers nowdays can,t ride for shit , but hey they look the part in their designer leathers with their silly little badges sewn on .
Now im not sure if I have joined the right site or not , but I have picked up a chopper for a real cheap price , stripped it , threw the dodgy revtech engine away and sent the frame , swingarm and a springer front end I brought to the sandblasters , powdercoaters will be the next stop.
It would be really cool when I get them back in a couple of weeks if I could post some pictures and get some input from the guys that have been there and done that ( and ridden the farking things )

eh, kinda like a ghost town. most of the traffic seems, at a glance, to be from a small group of WCC fans, or from google searches. and pushrod, he's steady answering folks it seems. but i haven't been watching close enough to really give an intelligent answer.
