Exclamation Need help identifying this bike!

I picked this bike up at a thrift store and the title comes back as a 1966 BSA Lightning. Somehow, that doesn't seem right to me. Or am I just crazy? Check out these pics and if you have any idea on what it may be let me know! Kinda looks like a Triumph to me. I understand that at the time people where (and still are) making bikes totally customized, however, I really don't see any similarities at all. I'm thinking maybe the engine was out of that BSA, however it didn't come with the bike and can't seem to be tracked down.

That is a BSA front loop with a weld on hardtail. Rear wheel looks like BSA also.
