Between Iraq and a Hard Place: The Infidel Chopper
I've been collecting parts for this bike since 2002, when I was in the hard place. Now it's time to finally get serious about building it.
Before you can start building a bike called the "Infidel Chopper" you've got to first ask yourself, "Am I an infidel?" This easy guide should help you answer that question.
1. Do I enjoy bacon on top of, wrapped around, or crumbled in half the foods I eat?
2. Do I enjoy looking at titties? (on women)
3. Would I be appalled to find my wife outside in the street ululating loudly on the anniversary of 9/11? And more importantly, would I punish her severely if I did?
4. Do I stand proudly during the National Anthem at baseball games?
5. Would I even attend a baseball game?
If you can answer "yes" to all of the above questions, you are without a doubt an Infidel. If you cannot, that doesn't neccessarily disqualify you - you might just be a pussy.
Stay tuned, fellow Infidels.
Pics to follow.

This is going to come in bits and pieces. Since I usually do things ass backwards, the build is no different. The first part I actually purchased was this one, before I had even purchased the motor. Got it M&M Leathers in Fayetteville.

It matches my Evil Black Rifle pretty well.

And since I want to do as much of the work myself, I bought a leather tooling kit and gave it a whirl. This was the first attempt. I've since practiced a few times to get a better look to the fletches.

It matches this emblem on my Para Hi-Cap:
There you go, gun porn and chopper porn all in one thread. Does it get better?

Well, come to think of it, it does, but the old lady ain't exactly in the mood to pose today, what with the ice storm and all...

Isn't that a verb for making the sound the "durka-durkas" make?

I find my wife in the street undulating, there better be another hottie out there undulating with her.
Nitro, your location makes me think you may know some of my brothers in arms. Or perhaps you are one yourself?

When I was under the mistaken impression I'd have to have turn signals, I built up two of these:
They're flash bang grenades with LEDs running up through them. I had to do some diagonal drilling in the body of the grenade to get all of the wires coming out of the same hole. I have some extra spring mounts from Choppershox. They will be welded to the top of the frame rail on each side, then the grenade's fuse assembly goes through the hole and screws into the grenade body. That way, it retains the look of the whole grenade with the pin and spoon still attached.
The finished body looks like this, although the fuse assemblies are not inserted on the photo:
I've since revised the idea, and will use 1 inch Custom Dynamics LED disks instead, and run two brake/taillights, with no turn signals. What was I thinking?

After fiddling around with these little projects, my wife finally asked when I was actually going to start on the bike. The roller had been sitting in the bedroom for almost a year. The problem was I had ANFI what I was doing.
So, I say, I need a place where they'll let me sweep the floor, clean the shitters, whatever, for minimum wage (My REAL job allows me lots of free time to screw around when I'm not actually employed) and then once in a while share a bit of knowledge. Not too many Dallas area builders (none actually) would be interested in a deal like that, I'm sure. One shop famous for their exhausts DID offer to fab up a set, unchromed, for $700.
Just when all seemed lost, a buddy of mine asked if I had seen an article in the paper about two brothers who were running a small shop, where the customers actually built the bikes.
I checked their website and was blown away by their bikes. They were building exactly the kind of machine I wanted-long, low, and very industrial.
I immediately contacted them, told them what I wanted to do, and we struck a deal--they'd teach me how to run the lathe, the mill, and all of the necessary skills to build the bike, and I would do it myself. Perfect! The caveat--if any of my ideas were too dumb, they weren't going on the bike.
So the rest of this thread will involve work done at their shop, with the occasional introduction of some of the other weapon parts I'd been saving to use on the build.
I just want to say "Thank you" to the Jimmy Lee and JC at Three Two Choppers, for saving my marriage, and coming up with a truly innovative idea of helping inept guys like me finally realize their dream.
A shame about the spinner idea. I think they would have looked cool...
