what the hell have i done, lol(pics)
well yesterday i jumped in with both feet!!
this isnt a major chopper build but it is my first bike rebuild so i hope i have put this in the right section, i'm sure someone will tell me if i didnt
i have been planning on building my 1979 ironhead sporty into a rigid chopper for a while now, i found a smokin deal on a rigid sporty frame, you know one of those too good to be true deals!!! well it turned out to be just that.
so for the last three months i have been buying brand new parts off ebay to build the bike, forward controls, new chrome handlebar controls, new tank, fenders, signal lights.
the other day i found out my frame aint coming, so i just decided to rip the bike apart, give it a new custom paint job, considering my cousin is a painter and owes me some favors
and use all my new parts anyway, since they will all bolt on to the bike anyway, then maybe next winter when i have some money i can blow again i will just order a new frame and go from there.
anyhoo, here are some pics i took tonight, it only took me about an hour to tear it down, this sure is different from buildin cars and its hard to believe but yesterday when i started this my garage was clean, really it was, lol.
so now that i have it ripped apart i just have to wait to get the frame blasted and then the paint comes next, if anyone has any suggestions for me i'm all ears, thanks, Russ.

Dam, looks like a tornado hit your garage! One thing I like about those tanks is they remind me of a women's bosom.

Well mine leaked a little just after a fill up
Not much a splash or two . Run it for a min and it would seal up OK .
but that little splash would keep wetting the lower paint area under the Cap. Yup it just takes some time and it caused damage.

Either way, when it's all said and done, you have a nice bike there.
