SPORTSTER Regulator wiring question

I have two questions regarding the regulator on my 2002 XL1200.

There are 3 wires coming from the regulator.

2 of the wires plug into the connector coming from the stator, but this connector can be plugged in with either polarity and both wires are black. Does anyone know if there is a correct and incorrect way to plug this in, or if polarity matters? Since power from the stator is AC I dont think it's an issue but want to bounce it off you guys before I run with it.

Next, there is a lone wire coming out of the regulator, I am thinking this wire will go to the top of the starter, or bat+ if I want. Can anyone verify this?
