my mutant re-build
so I'm slowly working on re-doing my mutant Buell from Redneck Engineering.
I purchased the bike a year ago, and the paint was chipping and the frame had some surface rust. So this winter I tore it down to the frame to powdercoat everything in new colors.
before:
tear down (done in 2 days):
motor done (took 2 months):
Dropping the frame off tomorrow to get powdercoated (can't fit in my oven) then coating the wheels.
any feedback is appreciated.

agreed - the engine looks fantastic. What did you do? tear it all down and get everything powder coated? well worth whatever you did

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Everything is powder coated, except the block and jugs, which was already painted black. The powder should hold up to pretty high heat I believe (hopefully my exhaust is far enough away . . .).
I did all the powder coating myself, gun from eastwood and used kitchen oven from craigslist. probably spent less than $300, which is probably less than it would've cost me to have someone do the motor for me. Not to mention I will be powder coating everything else on the bike to match. mostly red and black, with gold accents.

That engine came out amazing .. really well done and the colors fit perfect. Can't wait to see it all together on the road.

Finally got the frame back from the powdercoater. Took forever but looks great! Let me know what you guys think. Cost me $250 and I bought the gold base powder ($40).
Next up is to wire the frame. Not looking forward to that. . . any advice is appreciated.
