Got my vin the other day, have the final vin check inspection today. Got the tank painted last night, candy apple red, with some darker flames that will get pinstriped after the clear, and also plan on doing a design right down the middle of the tank, probably similar to the fire extinguisher pic. Got a new chain, clutch, throttle cable, and headlight on the way, Really hopin to have this thing on the road this weekend if everthing goes well.

getting the vin done is probably the biggest issue now days...now hurry up and get some tins on that thing so we can have a good look hahahaha

Still trying to get it done to ride on Saturday. Got my chain, clutch, throttle, and headlight from the ups man yesterday, electrical is all done. Tank and fender are silver right now, gonna do the flames tonight, candy red, and hopefully clear it. Pin striping tomorrow night and then cleaning everything up a bit. Get insurance on Friday, and Saturday morning go get plates and title. O, and take my motorcycle permit test. ha-ha

new headlight, think it looks a lot better than the old one.

Started painting the tank and fender last night. Got the flames on, kandied, and couple coats of clear. Will be wet sanding it right after work and then some more clear. Hopefully be dry enough to stripe later on tonight.

started striping the tank last night. got my title, plates and insurance this morning... Finish striping tonight, get the brakes bled, and ride tomorrow. try to get some pics that arent in my shitty garage this weekend.

So tomorrows gonna be my first ride. dont plan on leaving the neighborhood, but wanted to find out if anyone else is front brakeless. How is it? my uncle, that helped a ton with the bike has never ran them, and loves it. Im sorta in between about it. If it feels sketchy or i dont like it, ill prob park the bike and get new lower legs and a brake set up. Any thoughts?

never ran without a front brake and couldn't imagine not having it....im so use to using it unless its raining

Finally got to ride this weekend. Rides way better than i thought. Got it finished up friday night and went around the block. Had to make a longer shifter, had a shortie and couldn't find neutral to save my life. And have ordered longer springs for under the seat(wanted to slide me right off on acceleration). Also decided that the pillion seat has to change, prob go with the suction cup type. Other than that rode well.

Well went riding yesterday and about two blocks from my house, the bike started to be sorta jerky. Thought id just go home and check it out. stopped at a stop sign, started to go, and SNAP. bike stopped instantly, looked down, chain was hanging down on the frame, chain tensioner was laying in the road 5 feet behind me, and tire was cocked in the frame and pinched under the fender... great. had to call my father in law to bring some tools out. paint on the fender is ruined (must have been rubbing for a bit, paint was bubbling) so took everything apart last night. took tank off too. I'm just gonna sand it down and do some rusto industrial enamel for the summer, then pay for some nice HOK during the winter.

Three questions.

1. I want to put in a sight fuel gauge while the tank is bare metal. bought the fittings this morning (2, 1/4'' 90's 2, 1/4 to barb fitting, and the clear hose.) any thoughts on these gauges, Cool/ gay/ useless?

2 Anyone selling a fender for a 250 tire, used, rusty, as long as its cheap. 10.5'' wide +- 3/8''

3 Anyone selling a good carb. doesn't have to be S&S. i don't need a air filter or anything, just a good, working , carb.

well, rode it for a week and carb went out. so while waiting for the parts to come in re did the tank and fender. Got longer seat springs, took off the pass seat, plan on getting a suction cup one.
