Buell XB12 Chopper

Here is a bike we started on 2 yrs ago. We tucked it away and about a month ago we pulled it out and started getting crackin' on it. Its a Buell Fire Bolt engine in a 70's hardtail frame. Trying to get it finished to ride up to Pistons & Paint in Denton in November. We'll see what happens. Hopefully everything will turn out good. Will send more pics as we get more completed....

That's badass. I like that tall frame.

Just got the seat back from leather. Got the seat from ChopperShox. I tell you those seats are awesome. Don't get me wrong, I like oldskool springs but to have adjustability just makes it even nicer. Will have more pics soon. We just got the rest of order in from Bareknuckle, so it should get interesting......

Update.
Here is where we are on the bike. As you can tell, the front has been lowered by raising the forks. We finished re-enforcing the frame and made new motor mounts. Made some gussets and made the spacers for the wheels. We are waiting on a smaller tank. The tank will no longer follow the backbone. We should have the pipes and plumbing done in a couple of weeks. It's crazy how ideas change once the bike starts coming together. Will have more pics soon.

Don't no what or who made the frame. We got it for a case of beer from a buddy. We know it was made in the 70's. The forks are Frank's Forks (old school). Pretty sure that who ever had them before, had a raked out sportster.

Yeah, we like to indulge in the PBR every once and a while. Thanks for all the comments. We finally decided on a tank. We are going to use the original one, but we are going to cut it down and reshape it, make a deeper channel. The bike is going to look lower. We will try and take some pics of the frame upclose.

So we got the gas tank done, but still need to put the gas cap in. We took 1 1/2" off the bottom, 1 1/2" out of the middle and 1"-2" off the throat. Tapered the bottom of the tank to give it a slight tear drop look. We also got the tag mount welded on. We are trying to get the bike done by middle of February. Hopefully we don't have any other problems come up. Should have better pics of the gas tank being built soon. Haven't had time to upload the pics.

Started finally assembly on the bike. Going through and red & blue loctiting every bolt. Everything is on the bike. I started mock up on the exhaust and should have it done on Thursday. We will try to post some pics on Friday. Still having issues with the plumbing, but I think we have it figured out. Electrical should be on Thursday and Hopefully firing this weekend. It will be very nice to finally ride our creation.

Well, we got the exhaust, plumbing and wiring done. Just finishing up some other small things. Should be firing next week and take her out for a shakedown. Then off we go to the Lonestar Roundup in Austin. Should be a fun ride. Sorry about the picture quality. Will have better pics next week once the bike is finished. Let us know what you think, Good or Bad.

Well, the bike is all finished. Took it out for the initial shakedown. We rode out to Strokers in Dallas and had a blast. Bike ran very well and no problems came up. Had alot of attention once we got to Strokers. Lonestar Round up this weekend. Will have pics up soon.

Sastard, Sorry I didn't get back to you. Been pretty busy with the build and personal stuff. We will be at the shop on Tuesday.
