Rotor spacer

Doing springer brake on 74 XL, caliper seems to be rubbing spokes does any one think a rotor spacer is a bad idea? I need 1/4" spacer for the ideal clearance.

I had the same problem.i installed 1/4 in steel spacers that where a snug fit to bolt for no play.works excellent >also had it checked by a structural engineer .He agreed on design as well . your bolts need to be torqued the same with a good heavy grade bolt . mine works fine.most of the fun is educating your self.

Yeah go ahead. Plenty of guys have done it including me. I used a 1/4" spacer on my front wheel with my denvers springer. No problems. Got it from this guy: Harley Pre-1999 Pulley Spacers*::*Pulley Spacers \ Adapters*::*Motorway Engineering Co.
