Drop Seat Sportster Build!!!
Well I am moving my build Thread...to the XL build thread!!
Here it is to catch you up!
SPECS:
Frame: Drop Seat Sporty with 40 degrees of rake
Engine: 1988 HD 1200 Sportster xl 4 speed
Transmision:HD
Forks:Chrome ones....w/6 degrees of rake
Gas Tank: Vintage HD rapido
Seat Assembly:Mutiny Special
Forward Controls:Mutiny One-off
Oilt Tank: Oval 3.5qt w/ mounting straps Mutiny one-off)
Battery Tray: Mutiny one-off
Suicide shift arm and motor mount:Mutiny
Handle Bars: 1-1/4" Clip on w/ Internal twist brake & throttle
Rear wheel: 18" x 5" Hog Pro Indy split 6 spoke
Front wheel: 21" x 3.25" Hog Pro Indy split 6 spoke (matching rotor)
Tires: Metzeler ME880 200mm rear, 120mm front
Brakes: Front and back
Chain Idler/Tensioner: Mutiny one off

I did, but i have to redo my straps. I made the mounting straps from 3/16" x 1" aluminum strapping. It mounts like the vendetta oil tank. My straps seem to be just a bit too brittle. I am looking for a more plyable aluminum or I will have to use stainless!

I like the build. The tank isn't my cup, but then again what do I know. Sometimes once it is all put together the part that didn't seem quite right makes it all that much better.
