need help

want to put a newer style front end on my 70 t100 triumph so i bought a 73 triumph t5 and thought i could swap the front end and motor and other parts to complete a bobber style bike, is there a way to put the 73 front end onto 70 frame, i have seen this done, if anybody can help with info i would appreciate it

I don't have my old manuals around, what dosn't fit? Is it the 73' has a larger diameter bearing collar on the stem than the frame race diameter? Are the stems both the same? As I recall you can change the races on the stem but machine out the inside diameter to fit the 73' front end sterring stem, and you do not have to change the frame races. Send some info on what the differances are.
