sounds like they're on the ropes but not down for the count. The best advice that idiot didn't give them was to step back and hire an experienced Pres/Vice Pres. They are their worse enemy.

First of all, that "idiot" could buy and sell you a few million times over so show a little respect.
Second, a president couldn't bail them out at this point any more than the tooth fairy. They're fucked. They're in way over their heads. How are you going to make all the lawsuits go away? How are you going to get the economy and demand to match their overhead and expenses? Would a good president make cash flow magically appear? I'm sure they've exhausted all their cash as well as credit lines, and credit and good will of their suppliers or they would obviously be able to deliver on their current orders. Their name is mud and the fad is gone. No more yuppie wannabes, no more blue collar guys with equity in their houses for second mortgages, not to mention a glut of used, cheap, low mileage custom bikes around. The local Big Bear dealer just recently sold his last Big Bear and that was a 2008 leftover.
They have the overhead of a large company but not the cash flow, credit, demand, business savvy, and reputation to support it. Not to mention they should have asked for help a long time ago. Either way, they're fucked. And judging from the feedback of their existing customers added to the way they handled the fucked up frame fiasco, it sounds like they deserve it.

Others have. Lots of them.
American Ironhorse
Buell
Indian
Ridley
Titan
Custom Chrome (they sold kits)
Just to name a few. There are still a few that havent technically filed for bankruptcy but for all intents and purposes are out of business.
I wonder how companies like Bourget and Wild West are doing?

Old news, did not know this until now.
Did not know they went out.
Wife wanted one.
As Ridley saw success with its larger Auto-Glide model, Harley-Davidson immediately sued Ridley over use of the name "Auto-Glide," claiming trademark infringement. The case was presented to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin in August 2007 in five days, but Ridley settled on December 28, 2009, after waiting three years with no verdict returned.

?
Isn't "Custom Chrome" still in business?
Wild West has been out for a few years now.
Friend here had one of there bikes with the plastic, fiberglass, or something other than metal fuel tank that started having all kinds of leaks. Had to have one made.

Rolandsands, Chica, Jesse Rooke, Hotch. How are these guys still in business? I'm sure their stuff is not cheap.

Yea I wonder about Bourget and Wild West too and about Viper and Saxon as well. I be their accountants are seeing a lot of red ink.
Let's not forget WCC has pulled up their tent as well. Not a public company so the balance sheet is anyone's guess but from the shop pics I have seen not a "Low Overhead" operation.
In my field I have seen Independent Tank Co. disappear and Fat Katz lose crew.
The company that I wonder most about is S&S the onetime supplier to AIH, BDM, Saxon, and BBC. How do you par down a production line that used to supply all the leaders in a boom industry back down to supply just the trickle of home builders that don't go with the lower cost alternatives? While still trying to merge in your accuisition of Crane Cams?
