Jim, sorry bro I have to disagree. There are too many people that have not seen any letters in the mail. Got to call em!!

The dealers are worthless, might as well talk to the tree in the backyard.

I would not take the pressure off BBC by sitting back and waiting for them to do something. Had Larry done that you guys would have no clue about this.

Get your bike issue resolved as fast as you can. Screw class action, get yours first, don't stand in line. If there were 250 bikes involved and they are required, by some court, to buy them back - at say $20K - that's $5 Million dollars....and a bankrupt BBC.
its 350 bikes right now - that would make 7 mil. - You bring up some good points. Realistically, can't see this being settled or resolved in many months. Anybody who thinks it will be a quick action is in for some suprises, I think.

I think they should give you at least a choice, of the painted repair and any reassembly at their shop or dealers, or a new freight prepaid unpainted frame and you do your own.

And their gonna have to come up with a lot more repair shops than just BBC dealers for the guys that aren't close to one. And a freight prepaid frame or a known dealers estimate for the cash for the painted repair for the guys out of the country.

Not that this covers what you guys are really owed but it would be nice to have a choice since it appears there is not going to be 100 percent satisfaction

Nope. They will be out of business and owners will be screwed.

Do you really think a recall is going to give the customers alot of choices? For example - lets suppose Ford has a major safety recall - fuel tanks that may explode, etc - do you really think they'd have to offer more than their own shops for recall repairs? Or to fix anything more than absolutely necessary to make them safe? Why would BBC be any different than any auto maker? Is the goal of a NHSTA recall to make safe vehicles, or to please the customers? Think we're talking about two different things here -

And does anyone think that extreme demands could push a manufacturer to chose to close its doors - as an easier solution? What would a manufacturers liability be if they ( a manufacturer, not necessarily BBC ) if they did?

I can understand pissed off people - but I think this will rage on for more than a few months - definitely longer than this riding season.

If BBC dealers are not aware of this situation I've been wondering if there are affected bikes being sold since after the owners/management have known about the problem. Seems like a liability issue not using their dealers to track down potentially dangerous bikes.

I just read the recall notice on their website. In my opinion it looks like they are going to weld gussets on and that is it.

ouch, I really do pray for them as well as the owners of these recalled bikes...no kidding here.

I'm in no way a builder or bike shop but I offer my lift, garage and my help to anybody who needs it here in So Cal. We have a tig welder and an expert who can use it.
