I just called my local BBC dealer to inquire about Dave's "repair"...and instead ended up explaining to them the details of the recall. Nice!!!

Hey CENJIM, I've been here every day since this whole thing started. And since there is no information on CC about what this "repair" is...I thought I'd give the ol' "dealer network" a call. Surely BBC notified them of the recall...Surely BBC told them we were coming...Surely BBC discussed the "repair" with them to see if they would be able to do it prior to posting...Surely they know something...Well evidently Surely is still on spring break down here in Texas.

Jim, here at CC we really are ahead of the curve as they say.
I'd guess BBC is working flat-out trying to produce their current line of bikes and product and balance all this test/evaluation/recall stuff in the mix.
I'm sure the dealers would like a heads-up on the matter. I know from working in government service that the front line guys most always learn of changes and goings-on from their client base as opposed to their administration.
The top brass would be working on significant changes to programs or the way business is conducted; they wouldn't tell us, but they'd be communicating all the time with the base.
We'd get calls about something and embarrassingly it was all news to us. We learned from them instead of from our administrative offices.
Now stop trying to embarrass your local contacts! LOL!
Just kidding!

...from my experience , matters of this importance are priority , it only takes a phone call .....this is not a memorandum or change in company policy ..its a friggin recall that can bankrupt a company....

The main thing I would like to see right now is an explination on how all other welds on our bikes are considered safe in someone's eyes. I know we have not seen the official version of the recall from the NHTSA, but Dave would not have posted what he did unless the NHTSA had already signed off on BBC's "fix".

Jim, I agree 100% that we at CC are usually ahead of the curve...except no one here can tell us what the "repair" is or as Hitman and others want to know..."how do they know the other welds are safe." I could care less about BBC building new bikes. Their priority should be taking care of this recall by building new frames for all 350 of the affected bikes. Because if it doesn't go smoothly and gets ugly...they won't have to worry about selling any new bikes.

You said it chop!!

Jim is just trying to be the calmer head of our little group (and he usually is). The real story behind my hurry to get this resolved is that I really don't want to be seen riding bitch on my wife's Lowrider all summer.

To Larry:
I see in your complaint that "This is not the first weld on the frame to have broken".
What was the other break or breaks?
Are you the same one to send complaint about 05 Venom Swing Arm Weld Break?

Just curious?

Jim has been around long enough to know that things like this do not get resolved overnight.
