No one would have believed back when I first posted the frame weld question that things would have gone the way that they have. Nearly everyone expected that I would be slammed to the ground and that BBC would be victorious. But things did not go BBC's way then or now. Things may not be as "realistic" as they seem, time will tell and the amount of time may not be all that long either, that's all I'm saying.
Larry, Remember I said this...

But they spin very slowly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the truth.

Cenjim knows that. Like I said, He's taking a realistic stance...cause he's been around long enough to know how these things work.

Hey golfish,

Well their still trying to say that it's my fault the welds failed due to the hole I drilled, the 5-8 mph "crash" and the supposedly loose top motor mount by stating those things in the recall notice.

Nope still have all my genitalia fully in tact, and working quite well I might add

Now I will agree with you on that note. Hey, I got a 135hp S&S 124 just setting in a broken frame, maybe I can hook it up to those slow spinning wheels and burn a little rubber!

Larry, I truly wish you and all tainted BBC owners the best!!!!!!!

I have never meet Cenjim. But he has been a well respected member since 2004.

He never slams people...although you believe he has downed you.

Like others have said...you don't have to agree with what he says.

But he certainly does not deserve to be slammed.

I just got through reading the emails from today from BBC. They want me to take my bike to a dealer only. The closest dealer to me is probably Temecula, which is about 2 1/2-3 hours away. Hell, i might as well go to Big Bear. I do have a mechanic who said he would do the work, if Big Bear would ok him to do recall work. That would make it so much easier. I think they want you to go to their dealers to keep track of all the affected frames. I did talk to one dealer today in Mission Veijo, and they had not a clue what i was talking about. I hope this goes smoothly for everyone invloved. The weather aint gonna get much nicer. Lets all get it fixed and then do a huge run to Big Bear and get some free merchandise for our troubles. Haha.

Live like you mean it.

In Lightening Larrys defense ill say that Cenjim is a good dude, but it does seem like he is on BBC's side on this. Im sure Larry feels this way and I do as well, and for what its worth I have no affiliations with Larry, BBC, or Cenjim.

It just should show everyone that things are interpreted differently by different people.

One thing though, Larry posted his story, got slammed by BBC and others, and now there is a recall from BBC for 04 05 frames with improper weld penetration which is exactly what caused Larry's frame failure. That is basically where we are here.

????????????

I have an 04 Venom. Just recently joined CC. I ran across a post tonite that shocked me because I have been working with a dealer in Mission Viejo since I bought the bike for all my service and they told me about the recall before I even got the notice. I am surprised somebody said that a dealer in MV didn't know anything about the recall. ?? they told me about the recall before I even knew about it....??? Don't bash the dealers because of one lawsuit against BBC....I believe that the manufacturer and their dealers are doing everything they can to make sure their bikes are safe. Glad that you are still here Larry!

I have no doubt that BBC made sure to reach out to dealers that sold a significant number of kits and/or bikes that may have been affected versus reaching out to every single dealer that may have only sold 1 or 2 kits and/or bikes since the signed as a dealer.

And my guess would be that a dealer located in California has very likely sold more bike and/or kits than some dealer in KY.

First of all welders or even welding instructors don't certify welds in structural members because they aren't qualified BY LAW. Engineers inspect and certify the structural integrity of welds on structural components.

Fairwaymike, I see you had a discussion with the mental midget who calls himself "Poop". Well....I've got to give him credit that the name he's chosen for himself appears to be the first thing he's gotten right to date. I clicked on the camera icon next to his picture expecting to see pictures of bikes. Instead there were Star Wars characters and other weird items you would expect to see in a 12 year old's coloring book. Quite frankly, considering the source none of what I saw surprised me. My conclusion ? The guy doesn't have all his oars in the water and I think that really is his picture.

Gentlemen, there is a relatively inexpensive solution to see whether your frame has structural cracks at the weld and is a candidate for further testing or repair and you don't have to wait for BBC to do it.
