single or dual fire

80 inch crate evo
EV 27 cam
kick and estart
need an ignition
looking at the dyna S, but not sure if I'd be better with single or dual fire. don't mind spending the extra money on single fire but I've read the single is more for performance motors???
it's also been suggested I look at the daytone twin tech ignition.
what do you guys think?

I run single fire in my 80" evo w/ev 27 cam. I'm running a Crane Hi-4 but when it shits I'm going with a Twin Tech.

The Daytona Twin Tec stuff is top shelf for sure. I have a Dyna S in my shovel and it works fine and a Daytona Twin Tec model 1005 in my hardtail and it works fine also, since you don't have any ignition yet I would recommend a fully programmable set up and run it in single fire mode. On the street with your engine combination you will notice absolutely no difference in performance but I like having the ability to adjust the advance curve to you and your bike. The single fire ignition only becomes really important when you have lots of cam overlap and lots of cylinder pressure but will work fine in your bike now and if you ever make any more performance mods.

is the twin tech a better ignition than the dyna or crane? reliability is what's most imp't to me, not too concerned about a whole bunch of features. simple and reliable is what I'm after.

How often do you kick that bike over? I've got an ultima (rebadged dyna iirc) with 3 dead revs. Sometimes kicking the bike is truly a miracle.

Like Capt. said Twin Tech top shelf. Its just what I have heard. I have yet to run one. My experience has been with Crane. I had one come apart on me but the one I have in the bike now has done a good job. Once installed I have not had to touch it. I don't know if you can still get a crane. I thought Datona Tech bought them or something like that.

+1^^^^^^ you need an ignition that will fire on the first revolution to make kickstarting practical.

I know on the Crane it has a kick mode and a starter mode. I have mine in kick mode so when it turns over it don't hesitate to fire up.
