Quick video I came across on the Dirt Drags here.
Every year the Coffin Cheaters hold a dirt drags event up north here in Western Australia, does the US have anything similar?
Here's a bit of footage of this years.

I drag raced on dirt at the Reading Motorcycle Club for years, it was a clay track with a concrete lauch pad. The club laid asphalt down in 1997 to attract a larger group of racers...it was loads of fun! I'll try to find a good pic when I get home tonight.

Ha cool. I'd love to do it, I love the feeling of the back end jumping left and right under full power.

6 weeks ago i would have agreed. 5 weeks ago my CRF450R climbed out from under me under similar conditions. I lit on the ground right on my ass probably 40mph bruised my ass and lower back fractured tailbone it was beaut. tore a glute and pulled it away from my spine or whatever Still collecting fluid and sore has hell. I never came off the throttle
i am al ittle easier on the juice now

Faaark that sounds brutal. I've come off in a similar way on a 2 stroke YZ250, fish tailed to hard and high sided over the handle bars, right into a tree.
kicker was the bush I landed on was like poison Ivy or something so my back was burning the rest of the day.
