Fender Makers Unite

I can't find a fender to save my life! I tried to order a custom size from a popular shop and they even screwed it up and told me I didn't know what I was talking about...

Does anyone know where I can get a fender made custom. I want it set up as I state below.

13 or 14ga Cold Rolled Steel

7" Wide Outside to Outside

27.375" Outside Diameter

180 Degree Blank w/1" side skirt or similarly close.

The main problem I am having is sure, guys can make them any width, but they can't seem to make it any diameter. I realize fenders are usually spun and have a die so to change a diameter sometimes requires alot of work. The fender I got was supposed to be 27" on the outside, it was 26" when I got it.

Anyways thanks for the help, I want to get my chopper up and running and this is slowing me way down.

Does your bike move? as in starts? I would drive it to where you were having it done and show them. Maybe the way your measuring it isnt the way they do it.

I purchased a ribbed fender from Randy (fenderbender) and the fender is solid as hell and straight. I think there's a copy of his card in my photo album if you need contact info. These are "turned" fenders and so will require a little massaging. I highly recommend him..

Weld a 1" strip down the center of the fender. Problem solved.

You never know with e-bay...

If we talking about Fender Bender 777 his e-bay store no longer posted. I have been trying to get my stuff from him for over three weeks now! Looks like I am just another victim of a e-bay scam.......

Truth of the matter is this industry has alot of dick heads in it that don't know what the hell they are doing, and just want the image. I've been in manufactering for a long time now and let me tell ya, alot of these guys don't know what they are doing.

I did measure my fender correctly, it's 1" too small in diameter, not width, they got the width right. Everyone thinks all tires are the same diameter, they are not. I might just make one myself, I have equipment...

Make it yourself, you'll get what you want and be able to say, "I made it" when someone asks you where you ordered it. Hand made parts by your own hands are always cooler. Mark.

(Oh yea, thanks for the link there ACE)

We'll see burner, I'd like to make it myself, it's just the learning curve, never made one. I'm sure I can do it, just know it will take time.

Hey Joey, don't want to hijack this thread but man the bike in your avatar is awesome. Is that a hardtailed Shovel frame? or an aftermarket frame? I love the whole package man, looks amazing.

You should check out the guy from Front st Cycles. He makes fenders in all shapes and sizes. Also sells on ebay. http://frontstcycle.blogspot.com/ scrapmetalart@yahoo.com
You may only see handle bars on his site but believe me he makes great fenders.

I cant find it at the moment, but there is a metal working tutorial here on CC with pictures from a guy making a ribbed fender for a customer. All by hand to your design and to your spec. I will try to find the link, but others more familiar with the site will probably know off hand.

EDIT, The article was by FenderBender, but the article appears to have been written by Mark Usyk, and the previous post suggest he (Randy) might not be such a straight shooter. Same Guy...????
