Jerry Graves - FLA Builder R.I.P.

I have admired this dude's work forever... not sure what got him (anyone know?) but it is for sure that the industry lost an artist... I had a picture of him on an orange chopper rolling down the highway on my desktop during my build - his work inspired my build to a large degree.

Never met him, but have respect for his artistry - only the good die young.

R.I.P. Jerry Graves

(sorry if this was posted previously, I just got around to reading my March issue of HotBike)

Well I guess that explains why there was no mention on how he died...so sorry to hear that. I went by his shop last week when I was in FL and I thought they may have been open and selling offf his parts etc...but it was all closed up. RIP Jerry.

The industry lost another one of its brothers this past January with the passing of custom bike builder Jerry Graves. Jerry owned Graves Custom Cycles out of Boynton Beach, Florida. We had the pleasure of meeting Jerry a few years back while attending Daytona Bike Week. We shot his lime green and purple flamed chop for our sister publication STREET CHOPPER back January of 2005. Jerry was a great guy and an excellent bike designer/builder with a style that was truly unique. He will be missed.

Unhappy I did not know!!!!

As you know I have been deployed most of the last year, so I was out of the loop on a lot of events. WoW, today is the first that I knew of this. I didn't believe my friend when he told me today that JERRY GRAVES (My favorite bike builder of all time) had passed..... This is crushing news..... I wanted a frame by him (like the yellow bike above)....

How did he pass?

SEMPER FI and RIP Jerry G.

I hate to hear he died that way. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. It would be cool if we could start posting pics of his bikes. I know I have one I picked up off ebay and did a little bit of work to it such as putting a Sugar Bear front end on. It's an awesome hardtail!

Don't have any good pics of it, but here's the best of got. I'll get some good ones this week and post it. Simple, yet doesn't look simple. Hardtail, simple wiring, powdercoat everything! ; )
