03 Big Dog Chopper won't start

I'm having my first real mechanical problem with my 03 Big Dog Chopper. Parked it last weekend after a good ride and went to start it today and just hear a clicking sound from under the seat. I take the seat off to investigate. I never really have checked out all the electrical stuff under there so I start looking around thinking maybe a bad connection somewhere. I identify the EHC (electronic harness control?) and another 2" X 3" aluminum electronic item that is mounted on the rear fender. It has a big red wire and a smaller black wire and a red light that blinks a few times after the key is turn on. I check all connections and keep hitting the starter button occasionally. The starter finally starts kicking in a few times. I keep messing with the connections and now the starter kicks in every time but the bike won't fire up. I now notice the red light on the 2" X 3" doesn't ever blink. I check the plugs and they're not getting fire. My local dealer went out of business and there isn't another dealer in the state. Can anyone help me out here. Thanks in advance.

sounds like a starter problem - pretty common with big dog.

first make sure that the battery is fully loaded.

if it doesn't turn over with the battery full, get a piece of wood, put it on the selenoid cover of the starter (the one with the three bolts) and give it some nice taps with a hammer. this should shake the stuck selenoid loose.

if this helps, you need a new starter.

good luck!

Thanks but it cranks great.

Thanks but it cranks great. The battery is fine and the starter cranks great. I'm not getting fire to the spark plug. Anyone?

Try unplugging your EHC for a few seconds then plug it back in to reset it and see if this works.

2003 Big Dog start issues

Have an 03 chopper click no start. If run wire to selonoid from battery will start. Wondering what the small aluminum box with relay on and green lights on it. Not getting power to that selonoid wire through it
