The bike was not built in house, it is titled as special construction Iím just curious about the single downtube frame which has that cfl and numbers on bottom side of it, I bought it used

If you have pics still. I know several members kept track of the frames, and some builders might have information.

I have talked to guy who built bike in Illinois, I am just interested in any info on the frame numbers, from what I have found it is a real single downtube frame from WCC although bike was not built there

Spade115 01-14-2020 01:33 PM

frame numbers I think are just what number they were made, any real information you would have to get from the builder in Illinois, you could always ask the builder if he hopefully still has the order sheet from WCC, and/or Email WCC to see if maybe they can get you that information, But im not honestly sure the frame numbers mean a whole lot like on a Factory built bike. I know WCC Factory bikes I think started with 1CFL or CFL1

The only thing I can think of is
CFL (WCC CFL) R (Rigid) 0 (up) 5 (out) 0000975 (frame #)

But that would be a guess.

I believe that used to belong to someone who went by the name Baddog. According to an old comment I remember reading somewhere, he converted the frame to a single downtube.

The bike was built by Vince Wolfe and painted by Paint Works

OP, did you try calling WCC ? I think JJ has a brick an mortar in Texas.

I like the single down tube, I have it on my little chopper/bobber. I would have major concern if it had a bunch of holes drilled in it like so many CFL that I have seen.

I wonder if they have and kind of internal support in there that we can't see.

he has a brick and mortar store here in Tx, But email them, they reply quickly, good people.
