Later speedo fit possible?

Hi guys, dave in U.K., just getting going on another build, softail 200 ultima frame, done a couple of rigids before, using the flat side tanks so have got a softail speedo console, question is, wiring will be an ultima harness, thunder heart stand alone ignition, got a chance on a near new fdx speedo which will drop in the console, it's an 04 unit so later gizmos inside, can I make this work with either the Harley tranny sensor, or a sensor reading back/front wheel etc. I know there is serial bus technology with the later units, just need a steer if it can be made to work or not, have had conflicting info previously, any info appreciated. Dave
