headlight bulb recommendations

I need to replace my headlight bulbs on my 98 road glide. any recommendations? was thinking of xenon bulbs. i want something bright, but also that will last. i have heard that taking the fairing off is no fun.

I run a H4 bulb, picked up 2 for like 3 bucks lol. 55/60 but plan to swap out to 90/100 later, quick swap from stock.

LED's seem to be the best bang for the buck. Very long life, bright and no external ballasts and boxes like HIDs require......

replaced standard H4 with a higher output bulb. some improvement but you need to splice in a pigtail made for the added heat.
put an led on the rear...fantastic result. headlamp is next.

L.e.d head light is definitely the way to go, I have one in mine...It has 3 large leds in it and is as bright as a halogen and only consumes about 1/5 the power.., it also has a heat sink on it..
$25 on ebay, if interested I can try to look it up for you..

thanks for all the advice. led is the way I will go next time. for now I went with piaa extreme white. fairing removal and install was a lot easier than what I was told it would be. but then I work with car interiors all the time.
