New guy looking at a new to me bike, couple of questions

Hi guys, new guy here. After riding sport bikes for 20 years I'm looking to change it up and go with something a bit more comfortable and better for longer/freeway rides. I found a guy with a nice looking chopper who is willing to trade my ducati 1198 plus a little cash for his 2005 ride. It looks very nice but as this is my first cruiser/chopper I'm looking for any input/advice you can provide:

1) it has no gauges, but he says it has probably about 7500 miles on it, have to take his word on it, but it looks nice. A) what should I be looking out for/checking B) how hard/expensive is it to add spedo/odo

2) anyone make an easy on/off descent looking saddle bag/hard case for these for when I want to ride to the gym/work to put like running shoes/work out clothes/work clothes in

3) anything else you think I should be carefull of

4) what kind of maintenance am I looking at on these bikes?

He said it was built by rcsc choppers but a google search shows nothing on that

I cannot speak for California but here in PA the Big Dog would be cheap to insure and easy to get inspected. Both bikes you've shown are Softails and any Harley 91-99 Softail service manual would be a big help to you. Not much maintenance to do on these bikes, engine, trans, and primary(if applicable) fluids, plugs and an air filter, that's it.

Given those choices, I'd keep the Duck. Build your own chopper for less than 10K, have more pride in it than if you just bought one.
